Billy is a band from Boulder, Colorado. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Buffalo Bill and Clint Eastwood, they blend acoustic instrumentation with punk sensibility to create spaghetti western rock.
The band formed in 2015 while working at the University of Colorado's Farrand Grab-n-go when we all realised that we each play a different instrument. We recorded our album at KMGLife Inc. You can listen to it here.
I designed the logo, website, CD/Tapes, and the posters. If you would like a copy of a CD please contact me and I will be more than happy to send you one.
Billy is: David Bridges: Vocals, Guitar Daniel Jackson: Piano Ari Looney: Bass Guitar Brandon Miller: Drums, Percussion.
For this poster I used my Taylor Guitar as the center piece and then designed around it. I wanted to give it a punk-revival feel by having a dark color scheme.
I kept it very simple for this poster. I wanted it to reflect the venue that we were playing at so I "backspaced" a few of the letters in the poster. I added our infamous mountain/marlboro background to give it that Billy feel it needed.
Video on the Mountain
Towards the end of winter we hiked up a mountain west of Boulder and filmed ourselves playing a few songs for an online music festival called Bummeroo. You can check out the video here.
Every good ad campaign needs a non-traditional advertisement to make it complete.
We went out on the streets to show our customers that we care. We realise people treck through the snow, rain, and wind to get to work, school, or back home. We gave out umbrellas, jackets, coffee, and yes, even cake. Because we hear you. We stand by you. And we design, innovate, and produce for YOU.
We went live on shapchatand posted our stories ofgiving out the free goodies. The warriors were very surprised and we enjoyed putting a smile on a face that the dreadful weather took off.
We also developed a video for YouTube. For the warriors who don’t use snapchat you can go to Polartec and view it for yourself. Be sure to subscribe for more videos in the future.
